T00L is awesome. I like T00L a lot. They’re this weird mix of heavy metal and opera, in my opinion – which is the correct one. They haven’t produced anything in a while but are supposedly working on something. Their last album, 10,000 Days, was fantastic. It had good individual hits but also works as an entire album.
I grant you, I don’t know much about music (beyond waxing poetic about the cello). I also don’t know much about kids (despite what the state says). So these videos here, of a TOOL cover by little kids is … I don’t know.
First, the kids are uber talented. They’re already better at music than I am at anything. Second, TOOL is a bit adult. Some of these songs are adult. Sober is a great great song. I’m not sure if it should be sung by a kid who has yet to hit puberty.
What makes me feel dumb is this has been out since 2013. But in the world of the Internet that’s so old that this is now new again.
The whole thing is facilitated by the O’Keefe Music Foundation. Said foundation, according to their website is:
“The O’Keefe Music Foundation enables children to record their musical performances for free. With your help, children are provided with top of the line instruments, professional recording equipment and a team of engineers who help to capture these aspiring musicians at their best. In doing so, the foundation educates children about music production, performance, audio engineering, and the value of team work.”
This sounds like something nice and good. I shouldn’t be associated with it. Man, I’m now – in a roundabout way – helping a charity. I used to be cool. (No.)
You’re right. AWESOME!
