Anderson Silva HATES God

 

Mr. Anderson Silva, former champion of the organization that goes by the initials UFC, gave an interview to something called Citizens of Humanity.  From quickly looking at the website, it appears to be a fashion magazine.  Some sort of artsy black and white version of Vogue, I guess.  Weird that I hadn’t heard of it as I’m obviously the target demographic.

 

So. During this interview, he utters the following:

 

“The second fight, I was completely ready for. God gave me a signal there: ‘Dude, you gotta stop. You have to stop. I gave you a sign; you didn’t understand…’ But more than that, it was about being able to see yourself, to see yourself, which is very hard, and realize, ‘Darn, I’ve been doing everything wrong.’ “

 

First, I like that God, speaking to Anderson through the power of the Holy Spirit (as that is how The Lord speaks to men)(it’s in the Bible) addresses him as “Dude.”

 

Second, and this is very, very important: Silva fought again after this fight.  And cheated in the process, taking a whole bunch of steroids and such.

 

Obviously, this website is a very religious website, devoted to the Christ and all His teachings. (Not Mohammad, as he is the leader of the Muslims, who seek to destroy America and impose sharia law and take away our bacon.)  We know God pretty, pretty well.  But: He has not spoken to any of us directly. (Maybe McGee, but that’s probably just to let him know there’s no chance he’s getting into heaven.)  I like to think that if God tells you, “Time to stop” that your response would be, “Well, if the Big Guy says to do so, I probably should.”

 

As a theologian, I can say that most people tend to obey God.  It’s one of those things that happens.  A bush that’s on fire starts talking to you, you listen.  Your BFF is killed and then comes back to life, you listen to what He Who Saved Us All From Sin has to say.

 

So for Anderson Silva, former Middleweight Champion of the entire world, to tell us all that YHWH Himself instructed Senior Silva not to fight and that Senior Silva then did so anyways (and cheated while doing so) – well, what can I say: Anderson Silva Hates God.
