I’ve done some stupid things. Really. Ask my stupid brother. One of them happened in the Atlantic ocean.
I hope you’ll allow me to set the scene.
I was on my first trip with my girlfriend, Ashley. She is a sweet, nice girl. I like her quite a bit. But she doesn’t love cold water.
Who can blame her?
I don’t like being cold either. And the Atlantic can get kind cold. So we were on Spring break together, down in Key Largo (it’s like Key West but not as wealthy). We had a good spot with a beautiful dock that was quite lovely (QUITE LOVELY) at night. And not half bad during the day. It was nice out.
So I jumped off the dock to enjoy a little salt water and the sun. It was about 80 degrees out, so not blazing hot, but not cold. I beckoned for my lady to join me.
She relented after a minute of me assuring her the water wasn’t too cold. This was genuine assurance from me. I really thought the water wasn’t too cold.
I was wrong.
Ashley finally jumped in, was very cold, and bounded into my arms to keep her warm. Though the water was not deep, I was holding her up. I thought she was starting to warm up in the water. She plug her nose and closed her eyes, which I took as the universal gesture of “I’m having fun, throw me in the water!”
I was wrong.
I was very wrong.
But you know what? I wasn’t as wrong as the dudes in the video below. I only got a few glares and had to apologize for a misunderstanding. This girl below probably has a new boyfriend who doesn’t try to throw her off boats.
