The white stripes have a song that begins with “Now Mary“ and that is what I think of every time I hear of the title Proud Mary. It’s kind of a shame that this film was released when it was because if they delayed the release by about a month it could’ve been gigantic smash hit. Black panther changed everything. But That doesn’t mean there won’t be a Proud Mary Two. Because there will be.

Don’t expect anybody to reinvent the wheel with this thing. It’s about a hit man who in this case is a hit woman and protecting people from danger. She will go on the run and try to right the wrongs of the past because now she realizes that she was dangerous all of the time. She wants to clean her soul and she has to do this by getting over her pride in her work. It will be a tale of redemption that will parallel the black experience. Not really sure what that last part means but an agent said it once and it sounds really smart so I’m gonna go with it.

Who’s directing Proud Mary 2?
I think they’re going to go with an established black director. Just because that way they can create the authenticity that is essential to the black action film. When some dumb white guy like me comes along it doesn’t work as well. I think it’s all about jive talking and fried chicken eating but actual black people know much better than dumb white people like me. Which is a shame because I do like me some dark meat.

I believe this film will come out sometime in 2021 but it will be directly on Netflix. Netflix is the go to for all future movies on this level. I bet it will be a success for them.

this one seems too easy. They’re going to eventually get this type of film perfect for the black female audience. They’ve already done it obviously for white man and black man and even white women sometimes but they definitely need to hit the ball out of the park for a pretty strong black woman who’s a bad ass and kicks ass. I think Proud Mary 2 fit that bill.
