I can’t say I’m super excited for Sisters, the upcoming comedy starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, but it doesn’t look terrible. I like Fey and Poehler, but they’ve been strongest when starring in films they wrote. Sisters comes from Paula Pell. Pell was a head writer for SNL for a time, just like Fey, and she seems talented enough, though she doesn’t have many movie credits to her name. This might be a favor Poehler and Fey did for her, but at the same time the roles seem kinda different and cool for the two leads. Poehler is the much more obvious choice for a crazy, wild sister, and Fey as the uptight one, so having them play the opposite is decent.
That doesn’t mean it’ll be good, but it’s a bit more interesting anyways.
