BJ Penn, through his website (the one that was ironically run for years by the guy who started all this), has released a statement. As you’d expect, he denies the recent allegations of sexual assault levied against him by a former employee. It does provide some details as far as the timing is concerned.
Allegations that Pedro and his girlfriend are making against BJ Penn simply aren’t true. Penn trusted Pedro to run his website for almost a decade and considered him family. He was fired last year for unethical behavior and was provided a severence that ended on February 16, 2016. One day later allegations appeared in a one sided Twitter rant which happen to be many months after the alleged date in question. (August of 2015). There are many holes in Pedro’s story. In the almost 15 years that Penn has been a champion fighter there has not ever been any incident or allegation in regards to his conduct with women. He is family man and father of two young daughters with a known long term girlfriend. It is unfortunate that someone that BJ considered family is trying to extort him.
On its face, Penn is basically saying, “This guy was unethical. He was fired. I gave him a severance package. The day it ran out he said all this stuff.”
I kinda laugh because it’s not like bjpenn.com was the New York Times or anything. It wasn’t pure clickbait but it was pretty darn close. Oh well. More to come, I’m sure.
Any article about BJ being a rapist while showing a picture of him licking the blood of his vanquished opponents off his glove is a good article.
