I talked to one inside source in the Hollywood agent community and he told me that they would not put the movie in Chicago this time. I can understand that because as a Chicagoan I know how important the city and area around it was to making the movie come alive. But that was also a love letter to the city from John Hughes. What you need is somebody that can do that kind of love letter to their own city. And I think it would be important that it is not New York City. There are too many film directors obsessed with New York City as it is. You need a big city that has that charm an appeal to it maybe that black guy from the TV show because he likes Atlanta so much. Or somebody doing something with maybe Miami or Seattle. It would have to be a city though that has a conic monuments and interactions just the way Chicago date. It would also need to be a city with character and grit and something unique.
Plus: he can eat pizza.

San Francisco might work because it has a unique feel and flair to it and plus it’s got that liberal progressive five so having a young chick do her thing running around town in reinventing the wheel would fit in with their communist paradise.
