A lost art is men teaching boys how to become men. I know that the gender studies majors of the world don’t believe in it but men are different. We have urges and evil inside of us and it takes time and persistent effort to control them. If not checked, they’ll come out in dangerous and creepy ways, as is repression’s nature.
With #metoo casting a spotlight on us men’s, quite frankly abhorrent, behavior, we need to teach one another the wise lessons of old. We need … Role Models.
Every word of that should be taught in schools. Girls should understand this is how we work and that we’re doing our best; we needn’t make them slaughter the pig but if they’re gonna enjoy our bacon they should at least see dirty we can be.
But don’t ever think they have a clue how often we really are looking – they’re minnows trying to comprehend a shark’s bloodlust.
