Fighting technique is incredibly important. Whether you’re a striker, wrestler, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grappler, or any combination of the three core styles of MMA, you can’t be just bigger, faster, stronger or have better endurance to win. Sure, those qualities matter, but great technique enables you to feel stronger than you are, and it’s better to be in the right place at the right time because you’ve prepared well and know the best way to move at any given moment than it is to be the faster competitor.
And no group of competitors knows this better than the lizards in the title fight below. For those just becoming familiar with the LFC (Lizard Fighting Championships), think of regular MMA, but put it on the streets (where the real action is anyways) and add a tail for additional balance and support.
Also, it’s kinda icky.
Lizards train for years to get to this level. Their earliest training revolves around popping bubbles to gain coordination, then they transition into fighting chihuahuas. Eventually they’re climbing trees and farting on monkeys. INTENSE.
Anyways, the champ is the larger of the two competitor in the video below. His name, for somewhat obvious reasons, is Godzilla. Some say he got it from the movies. Other fear the movies got it from him.
The challenger is Fred. Fred represents the next generation of LFC fighters, and we’re witnessing a make or break moment for his career, and the future of the LFC. If he dethrones Godzilla, he may very well eat several flies while Godzilla has to watch. As the smaller of the two competitors, Fred is at a disadvantage, but technique-wise, he has the ability to get double underhooks quicker than Godzilla.
Will Fred’s speed and ability to pounce on underhooks give him the edge in this battle for the belt? Watch below to find out.
LIZARD FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS TITLE FIGHT:
Honestly, their technique is easily ahead of Paige VanZant‘s. Unfortunately, Fred’ amazing technique didn’t last against the superior strength and conditioning of Godzilla. The winner and… STILL CHAMPION: GODZILLA!
But was this LFC Title Fight Fixed?
It has been suggested in the aftermath of the judges’ decision that the fight may have been fixed. A crab runs the promotion, and he’s always threatening people. With a knife:
