Derek Brunson vs. Lyoto Machida

What Happened?
Cormier embarrassed himself in geeking out over Machida coming to the cage with the theme from Game of Thrones. He seems nice enough but Danny boy isn’t a good commentator. Brunson didn’t give him much time to talk, though, as he clipped Lyoto with a left hand, then some GnP, that left Machida completely dead. As dead as the crowd was at seeing another Brazilian lose.

Demian Maia vs. Colby Covington
Welterweight
What Happened?
Covington never stopped moving forward and threw an almost Diaz-level of punches. They weren’t pretty, and Maia did well enough, but the pace was what made the difference here. The Brazilian was an exhausted mess of blood by the end, while Covington wore a half face-full of red himself. He talked the talk and walked the walk here. “Brazil is a dump,” followed up by demands of a fight with Woodley further increased his star.

Pedro Munhoz vs. Rob Font
Bantamweight
What Happened?
Munhoz hurt Font with a left hook in the first round. Font panicked and shot for a takedown in response but Pedro was prepared and secured a guillotine choke. Short, sweet, and violent.

Francisco Trinaldo vs. Jim Miller

What Happened?
Shem you think of a Jim Miller fight, you think of two sweaty men beating on one another in close quarters for fifteen minutes. That’s what this was, with Trinaldo being more dominant and chipping away throughout the duration.
