James Bond is going to fight a ghost, such is the plot to the 57th Bond film, Spectre. No other reason to invoke the name of a ghost – well, the alternative term for a ghost – unless he’s fighting ghosts, right? Ghosts are in right now, what with them being so big that it’s ok destroy my childhood memories of Ghostbusters just so the Dirty Female Comedians can play Bill Murray.
So, yes, Bond is back. You probably knew but if you didn’t now you do. And now there’s another new trailer. Which you surmised from the title. This may or may not be the last time Daniel Craig plays the titular character. And it may or may not be the last time Sam Mendes directs James Bond: Spectre. (Well, it’ll be the only time he directs a film of that name and plot but you know what I meant.)
Spectre follows the basic plot of a shadow group out to control the world and only the Mission Impossible crew can stop them. And so with the help of Jason Bourne and Captain America and The Winter Soldier, the bad guys will be defeated (spoiler).
No. Really. This is the official plot:
A cryptic message from his past sends James Bond (Daniel Craig) on a quest to uncover a sinister organization while M (Ralph Fiennes) battles political forces that want to shut down the British secret service.
Bond will inevitably bang the bra off a woman – but it’s ok because she’ll show some grit and toughness ahead of time so we can pretend she isn’t just eye candy with a vagina that exists only for Bond. This new James Bond Spectre trailer does not feature bra-bangingness, I’m sad to say.
Spectre will be released in the UK on October 26 and in the United States on November 6th. I normally hate when not-America gets a movie first but Bond is British so I guess it’s ok. This time.
