Conan O’Brien, before he unsuccessfully tried to takeover The Tonight Show only to find himself on basic cable, once had a skit: Conan O’Brien Hates My Homeland. In it, he would make up something to insult about every country. Most of the this was easy as not-America is pretty lame. I like to think that this video, wherein Ronda Rousey learns Aussie Slang is the UFC’s sly attempt at the same. I mean, what other reason could there be. Maybe public humiliation, I guess.
Like, it’s AUSTRALIA. THEY SPEAK ENGLISH. Yes, they have a few local sayings but so does Georgia. If the UFC was in Atlanta, would there be a “Ronda Rousey learns to speak like she supports a bunch of crappy sports teams” video? I don’t think so. Oh well. I made the little graphic for this thing though. I’m really proud of it. I’m totes mastering this photoshop thing, I just can feel it.
And if you want more Ronda, don’t worry. It’s coming. Speaking of, there’s a video clip somewhere of Travis Browne saying Ronda is the greatest ever. Man alive the UFC needs to monitor that situation waaaaaaaaaaay more carefully than they realize. (I have a rant about it all, so it’ll become a column so you’ll get those thoughts later. THEM’S THE RULES!) For now, watch as Ronda probably says “mate” and throws a boomarang.
