Michael Johnson vs. Justin Gaethje

What Happened?
A better fight will not be seen this year. A more thrilling nine minutes will not be experienced this year. This defied logic. Justin is a walking old school dodge: it isn’t pretty but it’s built like a rock and will move forward through hell. He ate one giant punch after another from Johnson. He was rocked to the point of stoppage at the end of the first. The same is true in the second, when again Johnson called upon the heavens to bless his fist with power. But still, Justin would not go down. He would grab hold of Johnson’s head and fire off a knee to the gut, including one that stunned Johnson badly. And then – oh, and then – he caught Johnson with a punch so short it barely registered on screen. But Johnson began to stumble and the crowd began to rumble and Justin marched forward with one punch and then another and then a knee and then more punches. Finally, the coup de grace was a knee to the forehead that crumbled Johnson into a heap of limp death.

Dhiego Lima vs. Jesse Taylor
Welterweight
What Happened?
Taylor got his … wait for it … redemption. He weathered a few heavy punches, including one that dropped him in the second. It was that latter punch that set off the sequence of events that lead to the finish as Taylor scrambled, got the back, choke. Win.

What Happened?
Diakiese won via dec after some OK action. I’m writing this the next day and don’t remember it so it probably wasn’t too exciting.

Women’s Strawweight
What Happened?
Yoder tried for one TD after another as Hill did the opposite. Hill pressed the action more, trying to land combinations but ultimately never finding that one big strike. Hill turned things around for good in the third when she got a surprise TD of her own. Hill then cut a boring promo to cap a boring fight.

What Happened?
These two beat the fuck out of each other. CB was a bit better with the wrestling and Ginger Boy attacked more with submissions. They both grounded and pounded and punched and elbowed one another to the point of dual exhaustion.
