Previously we mentioned that the UFC and it’s official betting partner Unibet were releasing videos breaking down the flights for Saturday. The UFC and Unibet have now released their final video, a 20 minute look at the UFC 189 betting odds released for the main-event of Conor McGregor vs Chad Mendes.
I still find it weird that a promotion is partnering with a gambling company and publicly telling you what they think the UFC 189 betting odds are on their own booked fights. If you’re Unibet, isn’t this a conflict? You set odds and then tell people why those odds are good or bad. Granted, odds often change because the public throws money one way or another but then you are going out and trying to get those odds changed another way, in theory. Yes. The ethics of online gambling are of great importance.
Weirdest of all for me is that it is the UFC’s official broadcast team for their international shows that is doing all of this. It raises odd credibility questions. And this is coming from a man who is website features puggles – notoriously unreliable beasts. And who is similarly showing you these same UFC 189 betting odds videos.
I guess what I’m saying is: where’s my cut?
