1. Liz Carmouche vs. Katlyn Chookagian
Women’s Bantamweight
What Happened
- Liz dominated the first two rounds, using wrestling and grinding away. Then, BOOM! In the first thirty seconds of round three, Katlyn drops Liz big time. Liz was on queer street (pun intended). Liz tied up well and survived, leading to her securing a takedown at the 2:40 mark. Kat fought her way up, landed more strikes, but the round and fight ended. Likely too little, too late.
UFC 205 WINNER: Carmouche, split dec.
Should You Watch?
Third round for sure. Overall, it wasn’t horrible or anything. So:
2. Thiago Alves vs. Jim Miller
Let there be Lightweight
What Hapened
Miller simply outworked Alves. It wasn’t anything spectacular but he always walked forward and threw punches. Alves was slower and more plodding, probably a combination of fighting a faster than usual opponent and the drain from missing weight. The third round, in particular, saw Miller pull away as he started to get takedowns with a ton of ease.
UFC 205 WINNER: Miller, dec.

3. Vicente Luque vs. Belal Muhammad
This Will be Wild and Welterweight
What Happened
Luque MURDERED MUHAMMAD DEAD! Caught him with a hook to the head and took his head off. Insert reference to Muhammad and beheadings.
UFC 205 WINNER: Luque, R1, KO
Should You Watch?
4. Tim Boetsch vs. Rafael Natal
Malcom in the Middleweight
What Happened
Boetsch simply walked down Natal. No respect shown, hands down, stalking, throwing bombs. And then it happened and Boetsch unleashed hell with a single punch, added in some ground and pound, and that was all she wrote.
UFC 205 WINNER: Boetsch, R1, KO
Should You Watch?
Rashad Evans vs. Tim Kennedy
5. Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Michael Johnson
Turn off the Lightweight
What Happened
Johnson completely outclassing Khabib on the feet. In and out, different angles, hurting him bad. Khabib has wobbly legs. And then he just muscles his way to a takedown, almost using one armed, and is now smothering and pounding away. He’s a scary dude. Mounted. HUGE elbows. He’s a violent Demian Maia. These are some brutal punches. What a turnaround. UNREAL that Johnson somehow survived the first.
Second round, amazingly, started the same. Johnson doing well on the feet before Khabib just bulled his way to a takedown, hops from guard to crucifix and is simply beating the shit out of Johnson. There’s half a round left and I can’t imagine Johnson survives. Smacking the Johnson. Beating the Johnson. More penis jokes. Khabib is isolating one arm and throw arm punches that have no business being this heavy. Fedor-like. My goodness, Johnson DID survive. Wow.
Thirty seconds into the third, Khabib doesn’t fuck around and takes Johnson down with ease. Khabib thought about an arm triangle but then said, “Fuck it, I’ll just punch him some more.” Now he’s locking in a DEEEEEEP Kimura. TAP! Damn.
UFC 205 WINNER: Khabib, R3, Sub
Should You Watch?
Yeah. This was a scary mauling. I don’t know how can really beat this man.
6. Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stephens
Light as a Featherweight
What Happened
Stephens is a giant out there. So much bigger. Frankie quicker. Doing his usual routine of in and out, changing angles, mixing in takedown attempts. Frankie got the takedown repeatedly but had trouble keeping Stephens down. Frankie got poked in the eye but wanted to continue right away, tells me he wants to push cardio here.
Into the second round and Edgar with a nice takedown. Brief scramble as Stephens got up before sustaining damage. Stephens is slowing here. Frankie pulling away. I wonder if those two things are related… Just feels like Stephens is laboring. Then OH MY FUCK HOLY SHIT! Stephens lands a jumping kick to the head that was as a mountain punching an infant. HUGE knee follows it. How in the fuck Edgar is standing and moving would be unbelievable if it weren’t for him doing this with Maynard. Then at the one minute mark, Edgar with a perfect takedown. Stephens stands and FRANKIE JUMPS ON A GUILLOTINE!!!! It’s deep. Stephens flops to his back, trying to lessen the choke. It’s off. Edgar now with a one armed mounted guillotine but Stephens somehow survives it!!!
Both are tired in the third. Frankie may just be still out of hit. Frankie landing some good takedowns and leaping left hooks. It’s like they’re waiting for the last thirty seconds after what they went through in that second round.
UFC 205 WINNER: Edgar, dec.
Should You Watch?
Yes. You must. MUST!!!!!

7. Raquel Pennington vs. Miesha Tate
Wonder Women’s Bantamweight
What Happened
- Tate seems kinda slower. Then something awesome happened: Pennington snatched a guillotine and Tate tried to walk the wall and escape. She did this over and over again before finally duck for a takedown.
- They have STUFFED Tate’s tits in her top. Fucking hell. It’s distracting.
- Pennington with a good jab here. She’s adding a hard right behind it. Tate again seems a bit off.
- Tate has switched things up and is fighting Couture-style now. Nice veteran move, if I do say so myself.
- Tate pulls guard right away in the third. That was unexpected. Tate looking for an arm right away. Triangle? Armbar. Triangle again. Pennington doing a good job barely being out of things.
- North-South now.
- Tate turning, looking for a takedown. Pennington responds with a right guillotine. Tate out and going after a leg. Pennington pulls out.
- Tate again looking for a takedown as she stands and Pennington once more with a guillotine tease.
- They fall into a pattern of inside fighting. It’s ugly and with thirty seconds to go, Pennington gets a takedown. Tate wanting a kimura but not close. It ends with a bloodied Tate barely surviving.
UFC 205 WINNER: Pennington, dec
Should You Watch?
If you want to skip it, you can. You’ll be OK. Aaaaaand, nevermind. Tate announced she’d retired, so I guess it’s “historic” in that sense.
8. Kelvin Gastelum vs Donald Cerrone
8. Yoel Romero vs. Chris Weidman
Not fat or skinny but somewhere in the Middleweight
What Happened
- Weidman almost had a takedown after he took a sickening kick to the body. Interesting.
- Weidman with an ax kick and then almost gets a takedown. He seems to have turned it up a notch randomly. He almost got another one. Surprising development, one might write.
- Romero just poured water all over himself between rounds and they had a slight delay because of it. I’m not kidding. This man has the most brilliant little cheating tricks to buy more time.
- Weidman landing some pot shots and generally controlling.
- Weidman with an eye poke. ROMERO GETS MORE TIME! Ref looked like he didn’t believe it. LOL.
- Romero just did the most awesome shit as he easily swept Weidman to the mat and floated behind like he was doing a cartwheel. Fish in water type smoothness.
- Weidman stood but then Romero took him down with a beautiful power double. Completely different level wrestling on display.
- OMG FROM HEAVEN ROMERO MURDERED HIM WITH DEATH!!!!!!!!!! Weidman shot in and Romero timed a flying knee with one of the most perfectly time things of all time. Weidman was dead and has this insane cut that’s deeeeeeeep.
UFC 205 WINNER: Romero, R3, KO
Should You Watch?
9. Joanna Jedrzejczyk (c) vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz
for the UFC Strawweight Championship
What Happened
- They’ve fallen into a pattern of almost point fighting kick boxing. Neither is dominating, neither is really hurting the other. Sometimes they clinch a little but it just feels like it’s gonna go five.
- Joanna is slowly taking the lead but it’s kind of like seeing someone pull ahead a mile at a time in a 500 mile race.
- BOOOOOOOM! In the 4th round, Karolina blasts Joanna with a punch. The champ is out on her feet, stumbling, she’s nearly done. Karolina is all over her.
- AND NOW Joanna kicks Karolina in the head twice, then briefly takes her down!
- Karolina now catching the kick and firing off a right hand.
- Damn! They’re just throwing bombs at each other in the 5th. Everyone landing and calling back with one of their own. Caution to the wind shit. No one played it safe here and this thing really turned around in the last two rounds.
UFC 205 WINNER: Jedrzejczyk, dec.
Should You Watch?
It built like a rising storm and went from a boring drizzle into a thunderstorm by the end. … Yes.
10. Stephen Thompson vs Tyron Woodley (c)
for the UFC Welterweight Championship
What Happened
- I feel like Wonderboy is the Todd Marinovich of MMA.
- First round was all Woodley. Takedown and then just complete control, all punctuated in the last five seconds with a thunderous punch that split open Wonderboy.
- Rounds two and three were uneventful. Both were primarily Wonderboy controlling the distance and picking away with strikes. No one really absorbed much significant damage.
- I’m also watching this at my brother’s place and his fiance came in and asked if I discovered her prank. I have no idea what she’s talking about and have apparently missed being a victim. I’m now curious about what I’m supposed to be pranked by.
- And BOOM! Woodley hurts Wonderboy with a big punch. Wonderboy is up and then another punch drops Wonderboy down like a dead tree. Woodley is all over Wonderboy. He isn’t letting up at all. Now Woodley has in a deep guillotine. But Wonderboy is fighting it off. Theat was a mistake by Woodley. He lost some momentum.
- Woodley locks in an arm in guillotine and dives on it. It’s DEEEEEEEEEEP! Somehow Wonderboy isn’t tapping. Wonderboy must be able to breath out of his ass or something. This is nuts. He’s out!!!!
- Woodley has to be gassed.
- Fifth was somewhat boring as Wonderboy stayed away. Last ten seconds were good as Wonderboy landed some good punches.
- This could be a draw…
Bruce Buffer began to read the score but then got called back for new score cards. They fucked up. They first announced Woodley as the winner then issued A CORRECTION. This is hilarious.
UFC 205 WINNER: MAJORITY DRAW!
Should You Watch?
I believe so, yes.
11. Eddie Alvarez (LW c)vs. Conor McGregor (FW c)
for the UFC Lightweight Championship aka Red Panty Night Match
What Happened
- Conor has dropped Eddie three times in the first round!!!!! He’s pounding on Alvarez now in a very calculated manner.
- Conor just stuffed a takedown with ease.
- McGregor seems to be throwing every punch with perfect accuracy.
- Round two. Conor drops Eddie. Eddie is out. History is made. There will never be another.
UFC 205 WINNER: Conor McGregor, R2, KO
Conor McGregor is the UFC Lightweight Champion of the World.
Should You Watch?
Yes. Plain and simple, yes. This is one of the greatest fighters who has ever lived. This is history.

The History of all the UFC 205 FREE NEWS that came prior to UFC 205 FREE RESULTS
- Donald Cerrone vs Robbie Lawler is strongly rumored to be in the works. Personally, I’d suggested it before Cerrone won at UFC 202. Because I’m smart. Lawler wants a fight and Cerrone wants to fight anyone who ever lived. Book it!
- It has been confirmed by Dana. That wasn’t a well kept secret.
- aaaaaaaand it’s already off. Lawler says he needs some time to recover after Woodley smashed his head in.
- Oh, fuck me, KELVIN GASTELUM is now the new opponent for Cerrone. Seriously. What a fucking let down that is.
- Other rumors that Rashad Evans may make his middleweight debut at UFC 205. He might fight ARMY MAN Tim Kennedy.
- Remember when they signed this whole thing into law? This pic should jog your memory:
- That was a good day for MMA.
- Conor vs Alvarez as a main-event? Some rumors say so. That said: I suspect it’s just a rumor at the moment. But it makes for interesting speculation.
- Yoel Romero vs Chris Weidman being rumored now. I’d feel confident that Weidman is on the card for sure. And the fight makes sense. A lot of sense.
- WONDERBOY, Stephen Thompson will challenge Tyron Woodley for the UFC Welterweight Championship. This is only annoying because BOTH of Wonderboy’s names have alternative spellings that are acceptable. You can be DAMN sure that come fight night he’ll be Wonderboy and Wonderboy only during PBP.
- The full card is HERE (and below) and the “dream” match is happening: Conor vs Eddie. We lazily reported it first.
- Grady without an instant reaction to all things UFC 205.
- Another really badass promo for the PPV. This one MIGHT be a biggie…
- So far, so good. Things grow closer and no one is injured. They might be able to pull this off.
- Lyman Good got popped by USADA so he’s off. Guess his masking agent wasn’t … good enough.
- UFC 9-minute video preview time!
