Big Update: Anthony Pettis weighed in at 148 lbs. So the fight for a fake title that was gonna be unified with the other title that was itself a fake title until recently being turned into a real title is off.
Kinda.
Maybe.
The UFC didn’t announce it yet but the general protocol is that in a title fight, if one guy makes weight and one misses, then the guy who made weight can win the title but the guy who missed it cannot. Soooooo….
We could have a fight where Holloway tries to win a fake title so that he can then fight for the real title that used to be fake, while Pettis fights for nothing but if he wins probably gets a crack at the real title that used to be fake, even though he won’t have won the fake title first.
A day before grown men and women agree to beat the holy living shit out of one another, they all strip down to basically nothing, dehydrated themselves anywhere from 5-20 lbs (at least), be near kidney failure, step on a scale, weigh a certain weight for approximately 30 seconds, then eat and drink a lot as they bloat up to normal size.
Isn’t fighting cool? Enjoy watching everyone almost die but magically come back from the brink of death and fight tomorrow! No way that’s bad for long term health…
