In a few short days, the greatest fighter in the history of the world, BJ Penn, will return to the UFC’s Octagon. He is now older than ever (as we all are), slower, and maybe just doesn’t have it in his heart anymore.
Oh. Well. That’s life.
For me, Penn will always be the most amazing talent I’ve ever seen. Not Cruz or Belfort or Jones or Silva – Penn. HG has written plenty about wanting Penn to retire. I understand that urge. I even support it. But I’m hopeful that something weird happens and Penn pulls a final rabbit out of his hat. Because Yair is no joke. He’s an upper echelon talent, even though I suspet he’ll never reach the highest levels of the sport. The winner deserves it; the loser … hopefully reevaluates life.
