UFC Fight Night 75 video series Nelson vs Barnett: HOW DID WE GET HERE?

First, I’m aware that logo might be interpreted as racist by Koreans.  I’m sorry in advance.  It does look visually cool though.  Also, I’m not Japanese and this isn’t 1940.  And it isn’t a swastika or anything.  And I doubt anyone who reads this site will care because there’s a fuck ton else to be offended by.  Trust me.

 

As we have done since the beginning of time itself, where I watched the first atoms smash into one another after appearing out of thin air (and by thin air I mean from the finger tip of THE LORD HIMSELF!), we give you our version of the Road to Japan. UFC Fight Night 75 video: HOW DID WE GET HERE! Behold and watch not the random collection of videos (those are tomorrow)(cat’s outta the bag on that one) but rather these videos in particular which are FIGHTS.

 

First up is Urijah Hall.  He was first up because that’s the first one I grabbed.  Super good.  Tons of potential.  Hasn’t lived up to it.  But enough about what my mom tells me every night.  Here’s him beating the shit out of Chris Leben.  Leben may or may not have been on 14 different opiates at the time.  It shows what Hall can do, with his insane speed and power, but also shows what he can’t do: be aggressive throughout.  A little too “pick and choose” which sucks because …

 

 

 

Remember when I said it sucks that Hall does the Pick and Choose thing?  So does Mousasi.  Now, he’s a bit more of a natural finisher but he’s still a point fighter first and foremost.  Those two against one another could be a REAL boring 15 minutes.

 

 

Then we have the main-event.  Fat vs Fatter.  Barnett beating GAN MCGEE who … you don’t know him or remember him and your life is better off for it.  Will Barnett continue the trend of disappointments from PRIDE?  Probably.

 

 

Thankfully we have Roy Nelson and, well, these clips show why people like Roy.  He’s Tank Abbot but he doesn’t challenge women to fights and doesn’t suck.  What he does do is hit super duper duper hard.  True one punch KO power like few have.  (Except most heavyweights because they’re all big strong people.)

 

 

 

Sigh.  Poor Nog.  This is hard to watch…
