Michael Chiesa vs. Kevin Lee

What Happened?
What a pair of proper characters these two are. Both with a rare self belief and cool background. The flashy pretty jive talking cool black dude w a high top hairdo and Chiesa as this mean white trash hillbilly but you know he’s been scrapping and fighting forever and lives to brawl. And it’s all over one guy insulting the other’s mom. A feud and fight between two living racist and bigoted stereotypes based around basic school yard insult but you know it’s some dumb actual source of pride. And then Lee took the back and sunk in a choke. The ref stopped it. Lee jumped and screamed “yeah mother fucker.” Only for Lee to protest because he didn’t tap! And he wasn’t out. Truly not out but a tough call for the ref to make, honestly, because he’s wasn’t fighting the choke anymore. I thought he was out in one of those “flash choked out” ways. He wasn’t but I don’t think it was a crazy unreasonable thought.

What Happened?
This was like Texas playing OKC in college football. Or something. Look. Tim killed Fatso. He was just waaaaaaay too much bigger. He kicked Hendricks in the head. Staggered him. Flung 500 uppercuts and punches that slowly brought Hendricks to the ground. Brutal.

Felice Herrig vs. Justine Kish
Women’s Strawweight
What Happened?
Somehow, Herrig got past multiple inspectors and into the cage itself before the ref finally noticed she didn’t have her mouthguard in. Holy fuck, that’s some TX level stupid. Herrig mostly won on the ground and then half way through the third has in the single deepest rear naked choke you’ll ever see. And held it. And held it. Easily thirty seconds of choking but Kish would not quit. Didn’t even consider it. And somehow lived. Fuuuuuuck. They both looked gassed as fuck after that but Herrig with a bit more in the gas tank, floating and keeping position.

What Happened?
Reyes murdered a man in 20 seconds. Swarmed him with punches and kicks. Dropped him. Death. Amazing performance for a guy in his debut fight.

What Happened?
Just a living turd marching around the toilet seat to annoy and ruin your day. Fuckers danced and played patty cake and go suck a dick, assholes.

B.J. Penn vs. Dennis Siver
Featherweight
What Happened?
Sigh. Did you expect any other descriptor for a BJ Penn fight? Sigh. He looked slow in the first. In the second he dropped Siver hard and almost finished it. Then in the third, he died a slow, relentless death. Siver clipped BJ with every punch and kick he wanted as Penn gassed. Yes. At 145 lbs. Penn showed guts in surviving the round but it was his career in a nutshell: give you some hope, show some flashy brilliance, and then fade and disappoint.

What Happened?
Vintage Guida. He flung wild punches to set up takedown attempts. He struggled with them in the first but his energizer bunny style of pressing wears down everyone. He got TD w ease in the 2d and 3d and mounted Koch in both rounds for several minutes. He peppered with GNP – nothing super heavy but Chinese water torture style death.

What Happened?
Martin yelling at Case, “I’m right here. Talk some shit now. Say it to my face. I’m right here.” It doesn’t matter who, as long as someone gets dropped this is awesome. Also, this is some really brilliant striking. Case started off moving like Cruz but Martin slowly found his timing and ended up using said timing to batter Case. This actually turned into a bit of a Cruz vs Garbrandt xerox. Third round decided it all as they were probably split after two. Which … yes, that’s why the third would decide it. And Martin landed more shots in the third and even grounded Case with thirty seconds after he Bull rushed a TD. THIS WAS SHIT THAT IS GOOD.
